Save the Date for Diversity Day ’24 4/28/24
Diversity day is a celebration of our diverse Tam community! It’s a day to start conversations with new people, learn about student clubs, enjoy performances by student bands, and participate in community art projects. Ethnic food and goods from local bipoc businesses will be available to purchase, so join us for a fun-filled day and get to know each other!
At the October 2, 2020 PTSA General Meeting, the Tam High PTSA took up and voted to support the following statement regarding racial justice, anti-semitism, and equity.
As parents and caregivers, we do everything in our power to protect our children from harm of all kinds, but the reality of continuing discrimination and injustice makes that impossible for many of our children and families. This cannot continue.
We join our district and the California State PTA in seeking concrete actions to address the pattern of institutional discrimination and systemic racism in our country, our county, and our schools. We commit to examining our own practices and structures to work towards eliminating implicit and explicit bias, racism and inequities within the PTSA, Tam High, and our community as a whole.
The Tam High PTSA denounces racial injustice, violence, and the recurring mistreatment of people based on their race or ethnic background. We stand in solidarity with our district in its focus to increase equity for all and decrease racism and anti-semitism. We acknowledge that dismantling racism and bias of all kinds in order to provide equitable opportunities for all will take all of us. It will take all of us to examine our implicit and explicit biases and will take all of us to support the current and future work happening specifically in the Tam Union District.
